- Overall capacity in SE Asia market grew by 5.1% compared to April 2024 to 39.4 million seats.
- International capacity continues to grow at a faster rate than domestic capacity, with increases of 8.7% and 2.6% respectively.
- Domestic capacity represents 57% share of the market, and international capacity represent the remaining 43% market share.

Which sOUTH eAST aSIAN Country Has The Most Airline Capacity (Domestic + International)?
- Indonesia remains the largest SE Asia market with 10.4m seats, despite a reduction in capacity of 6.3% compared to April 2024.
- Thailand is the next largest market in SE Asia, with 7.6m seats, adding 620,000 seats year on year, an 8.9% increase in capacity.
- The market showing the largest growth in seats is Viet Nam, with growth of 642,000 seats on last year, which represents a 12% increase.
- The small market of Timor-Leste is growing at the fastest rate this month, up 26% on last April, although this is one of the smallest country markets.

- Indonesia is the largest domestic market in SE Asia with 8.4m seats - capacity over twice that of the next largest market Viet Nam with 3.7m seats.
- The market showing the largest growth in seats is Thailand with growth of 402,000 seats on last year, followed closely by the Philippines with growth of 401,000 seats this month compared to last year.
- Timor-Leste has a domestic market of 2,600 seats this month, which is a market that didn't have any scheduled capacity 12 months ago.

Which is the Busiest Airport in South East Asia?
- Singapore Changi remains the largest airport in the region, with 3.5m seats. This represents an increase of 5.7% in capacity compared to last year.
- Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi are a close second and third busiest airports, both with capacity of 3.2m seats.
- Within the Top 10 airports in the region, Bangkok Don Mueang is showing the fastest rate of growth, up 11% on last year.
- Two airports within the top 10 are down capacity compared to April 2024, namely Makassa (-0.4%) and Jakarta (-2.7%).

Where do International Flights From SE Asia Go?
- SE Asia capacity to the rest of Asia Pacific is the largest international market with 8.1m seats. This is 48% of the total market in the region of 16.9m seats.
- International capacity within SE Asia is the next largest market with 6.7m seats, which accounts for 39% of SE Asia international capacity.
- African capacity shows the fastest rate of growth this month increasing by 33.8% compared to last year (albeit from a very small base), while the market showing the slowest rate of growth is the Middle East with growth of 2.4% this month compared to last year.
TOP 10 LARGEST SOUTH EAST ASIAN AIRLINES BY SEATS | APRIL 2025
- AirAsia continues to be the regional's largest carrier with 2.83m seats this month, with Lion Air the second largest carrier 141,000 seats behind at 2.69m seats.
- Within the Top 10 airlines, Cebu Pacific Air continues to increase at the fastest rate compared to last year, with growth in capacity of 25%, which equates to 455,000 more seats than April 2024.
- Two airlines within the top 10 are down capacity compared to April 2024, namely Malaysia Airlines (-1.2%) and Lion Air (-11.4%).
