• Overall capacity in the Southeast Asian market grew by 2.4% compared to August 2024 to 50.8m seats.
• International capacity increased by 4.9%, whilst domestic capacity declined by 0.5%.
• International flights make up 55% of the market; domestic flights represent the remaining 45%.

• Indonesia remains the largest Southeast Asian market with 10.6m seats, despite reducing capacity again this month by 9.2% compared to August 2024. Thailand is the next largest market in Southeast Asia with 7.3m seats, a 5.7% increase in capacity vs last year.
• The markets showing the largest growth in seats are Vietnam and Malaysia again this month, with growth of 819,100 and 471,400 additional seats respectively compared with last year.

Which sOUTHeAST aSIAN Country Has The Most Domestic Airline Capacity?

• Indonesia is the largest domestic market in Southeast Asia with 8.4m seats, despite a 12.7% reduction in capacity - 1.2 million fewer seats.
• Vietnam led domestic capacity growth with 445,000 more seats than last year, followed by Thailand and Malaysia which increased by 420,000 and 355,000 respectively compared to August 2024.
• Cambodia’s domestic flight capacity has dropped by 58.2% this month to 14,000 seats.

• Singapore Changi remains the largest airport in the region with 3.5m seats. This represents a decline of 0.6% in capacity compared to last year.
• Kuala Lumpur is the second busiest airport with capacity of 3.33m, an increase of 6% vs last year.
• Hanoi and Bangkok Don Mueang grew at the fastest rate of those in the Top 10, up 14.1% and 13% respectively vs last year.
• Within the Top 10, Makassar reduced capacity the most, declining by 18.3% vs August 2024.

• Capacity to the rest of Asia Pacific remains the largest international market with 16.9m seats and increased by 4.7% (764k more seats) vs last year.
