The on-time performance (OTP) of airlines plays a valuable role in the aviation industry, but how it is measured has come under scrutiny. In this report, OAG examines how OTP is considered and how flight schedules are still an important factor within the airline industry. We investigate:
- The basis of OTP as well as the critique of punctuality
- New ways of looking at schedules, including the theory behind 'padding'
- How airlines are managing their expectations.
