  • The post-pandemic recovery period has been challenging for Deutsche Lufthansa AG, with a slower return of capacity than other carriers impacting the German airline’s performance.
  • Lufthansa's capacity in every region is down compared to 2019 capacity levels, notably:
    • Middle East: -45%
    • Asia: -29%
    • Latin America: -25%
    • Europe: -22% (despite making up 88% of total capacity)
  • Lufthansa's overall capacity is down 22% compared to 2019.
  • As Germany’s national airline, Lufthansa continues to dominate capacity at the two main airport hubs - Frankfurt and Munich - where they hold above 50% share at each, with large proportions of that traffic connecting onwards to other destinations.
