British Airways: 2025 in stats

  • In 2025, British Airways increased flights by 1% compared to the previous year.
  • The airline's network reduced in 2025, down by 6% to 558 routes, when compared to 2024.
  • British Airways has still to fully recover from the pandemic with 2025 capacity down 8% on 2019.
  • The US market accounts for around 44% of BA’s capacity to destinations beyond Europe, approximately 4.5 million seats annually - which is known to be a major source of profit for the airline. Although perhaps under pressure from weakening demand for travel from Europe to the US since early 2025, BA’s long-haul network is increasingly focused on developing premium capacity which will potentially offset any gaps.
