The Skift Travel Health Index shows a slight softening in global travel performance for February 2025 at 99, marking the first year-on-year decline since post-pandemic recovery, with a 1% decrease overall. Highlights from this month's Skift Travel Health Index include:
- The Asia-Pacific region and Latin America show growth, while Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and North America have declined.
- Argentina leads country growth, and the countries in the Asia-Pacific region dominate the top rankings.
- Despite ongoing geopolitical and economic uncertainties, global travel demand remains strong:
- Globally, 80% of travelers are willing to take more or the same number of trips in 2025 as they did in 2024.
- 68–70% of travelers are planning to spend more or the same on flights and accommodations in 2025 compared to 2024.
- Travelers from India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Brazil are planning to increase their travel budgets, spending more on flights and accommodations - European and American travelers, however, are more cautious and intend to maintain or reduce their current spending levels.
