Highlights from this month's Skift Travel Health Index include:
- Global travel health remains strong. Europe has seen a 2% decline compared to last year - but the region had a packed events calendar in 2024 which significantly increased demand at the time.
- The travel industry's verticals are showing mixed performance:
- Vacation rentals were the strongest performers rising 12% year-on-year,
- The car rental sector increased by 9%,
- The airline sector is also experiencing steady growth,
- Hotels, however, declined by 2% in May 2025.
