Shanghai, China, 11 June 2014: Aviation information and intelligence provider OAG has chosen Mark Clarkson to spearhead company expansion as Business Development Director, Asia Pacific. Formerly OAG's London-based commercial director, Mark will be based in Singapore.
"OAG sees the Asia Pacific as a key growth region for its business, and we believe Mark is the best person to drive our development there," said John Grant, Executive Vice President of OAG. "With his solid expertise and years of industry experience he will help us capitalise on an array of opportunities in an area of the world that is changing so rapidly."
Mark has extensive experience helping airport and tourism authorities implement strategies and build sustainable air services. Prior to joining OAG in 2012 he spent five years as Vice President of consultancy firm Airport Strategy Marketing (ASM) where he was responsible for delivering client projects, including new route development and network strategies. He has also served for six years as Business Development Manager for the Peel Airports Group.
Mark was recently appointed a member of the Aviation Committee of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), a not-for-profit group that plays a key leadership role in the sustainability initiatives of the region's travel industry.
As part of its continued expansion in ASPAC OAG is currently recruiting in the region and undertaking market research that is uncovering new opportunities in a number of different countries.
Mark added: “These new opportunities are largely in sectors outside OAG’s traditional focus and loyal customer base of the airline and airport industries. We are very excited about the opportunity to introduce our expertise and products to these new markets and we have developed a number of innovative solutions in a range of sectors which are of great relevance to this region. OAG has a long history and commitment to the ASPAC region and we will be building strongly on that in the coming years.”
