• Dubai International Airport (DXB) remains the World’s Busiest International Airport in August 2025 with 5.35 million seats, a 3% increase compared to last year, adding 175,298 seats.
• London Heathrow (LHR) continues in second place with 4.29 million seats and has seen a 1% capacity increase year on year.
• Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) ranks third, with 3.83 million seats and capacity is 4% higher than last year.
• Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) in ninth place continues to experience the largest capacity growth among the top 10 compared to last year, increasing by 12% and adding over 359,962 seats, a clear indication of the region’s ongoing travel recovery.
• Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) was the only airport in the top ten to see a reduction in capacity, down 1% compared to August 2024 and is in seventh place.

Which is Europe's Busiest Airport?

• Istanbul Airport (IST) remains the Busiest Airport in Europe in August 2025 with 4.76 million seats, a 7% increase in capacity compared to the same month last year. In August 2024 Istanbul Airport (IST) was the second largest airport in Europe and it has moved up to be the busiest in 2025 and it is still growing.
• London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is in second place with 4.53 million seats and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is in third with 4.01 million seats, both airports have similar capacity to last year.
• Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) and Amsterdam (AMS) follow closely in fourth and fifth place, both showing strong performance compared to last year. Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) added over 139,000 seats (4%), while Amsterdam (AMS) also saw a 4% rise in capacity, equating to an increase of more than 142,000 seats.
• Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) continues to demonstrate the strongest growth trend, increasing capacity by 18% year on year, with 397,480 additional seats and is in ninth place.
