BANGKOK - A Thai court has ordered the PAD protesters occupying Suvarnabhumi airport to leave.

But the group says it will stay until the government resigns. They have brought in food and blankets and appear set for a long stay.

Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat has rejected calls by the country's military chief to stand down.

Meanwhile, the airport remains paralysed with airlines unable to fly in or out, leaving thousands of stranded passengers to sit out the crisis in nearby hotels.

AirAsia will cancel 58 more flights, due to leave Bangkok today for domestic and overseas destinations.

In a statement, the airliner said the cancellation of flights until 2pm Thursday would affect 36 domestic flights and 22 international flights.

On Wednesday, the airline cancelled more than 100 flights.

Some anti-government protesters have gathered in front of the domestic terminal at Don Mueang Airport today, amid speculation they would siege the facility to add more pressure on the government.

Some 18 incoming flights were diverted to the airport as Suvarnabhumi Airport was besieged.
