Laptop checks at LHR - trial period over

For the past 12 months, following the introduction of much more sophisticated screening equipment; customers have been able to leave their laptop in its case/bag as it passed through the security scanners.

The UK Government has advised BAA that they cannot continue to trial this process. Therefore laptops will need to be removed from their bags again as customers go through the airside search boundary.

This is a UK Government directive, which airport operator BAA is implementing.
