Finnair pilots' strike

November 16, 2009

Finnair and The Finnish Airline Pilots' Association have failed to reach agreement in employment agreement negotiations. Finnair pilots begun a strike on Monday 16 November.

Nearly all scheduled flights are cancelled. Finnair aims to operate all of its leisure flights regardless of the strike. The flights with AY-numbers AY5610-AY8636 will be operated by our code-share partners during the strike. Finncomm Airlines flights are operated normally during the strike. Please click "Flight info" on the left for specific information on cancelled flights.

We recommend that customers postpone their journey if their flight is cancelled due to the strike. If postponement is not possible for the customer, we will attempt to make special arrangements to enable the journey.

If your flight is among those cancelled, the options are rerouting, postponement of the journey, or a refund of the unused part of the ticket. We will be flexible in changing flight bookings, irrespective of the type of ticket.

Customers whose flights are cancelled are urged to primarily contact the travel agent from which they booked their tickets. Service to customers is provided on the telephone numbers +358 800 9 3466 or +358 600 140 140 (3.12 e/answered call + lnc, you may use our Local world-wide contact numbers as well.

We will also inform customers using text messages so it is important that bookings have an up-to-date mobile phone number to be able to send information about changes caused by the possible strike. We also recommend follow up of these info-pages, because telephone services are likely to be busy. We update information about the flights and situation on the internet at these info-pages on www.finnairgroup.com/info web-site.
