OAG partners with Avis to streamline global booking process for car rentals

OAG, the global travel and transport information company, announced today its involvement as a key content provider to the AVIS Rent a Car reservation system enabling Avis to provide a better user experience for its business and leisure customers.
Online bookings made on the Avis web site, or those of its travel partner sites, will automatically link to the OAG flight schedules database which contains details of all direct and connecting flights worldwide including those of Low Cost airlines.
The user will no longer need to provide details of the desired car rental pick up point, they can simply key in the date the booking is required and the flight number. This will trigger a query to the OAG database validating the flight number and pre-populating fields within the reservation system with flight information relevant to the booking.
