Management Team
Richard Rivera is Chief Technology Officer of OAG and also Senior Vice President & CTO of Commonwealth Business Media.
Richard has been with CBM and its predecessors since 1984, and Vice President of Information Technology since 1998. He advanced through the ranks of the technology group from computer operator, for what was then Thomson Transport Press, to Vice President of Information Technology for Primedia Information Inc., a subsidiary of Primedia Inc. During his tenure, he has successfully overseen numerous projects involving database publishing systems, networking and telecommunications, circulation and fulfillment, finance and accounting, and new media development.
Richard played a key role in the formation of Commonwealth Business Media in October, 2000, as part of a management team that successfully spearheaded the buyout of the company from its prior owner, Primedia Inc. He has also been instrumental in assisting Commonwealth Business Media and its predecessors in the evaluation and integration of acquisitions in the areas of directory, magazine, newsletter, and database publishing. He has had direct involvement in 14 such acquisitions since 1990, with the most recent occurring in March, 2005 when Commonwealth Business Media acquired the assets of BACK Aviation Solutions.
Richard is responsible for all of Commonwealth Business Media’s technology and currently heads up a combined technology group that supports 12 offices across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the U.K.
Richard holds a BS in Computer Science from St. John’s University.
