T-Mobile introduce Travel and Journey Alerts provided by OAG and Mobile Commerce

OAG, the world’s largest provider of flight schedules and online travel information, today announced a partnership with Mobile Commerce to provide T-Mobile with flight schedules and flight status alerts as part of a Travel & Journey Alerts Service.  The service provides flight and road traffic status alerts, rail information, driving directions and best journey routes direct to T-Mobile customers via SMS. 

Air travellers and those meeting or greeting travellers at an airport can request current flight status via this service.  Scheduled flight timetables and flight status alerts will be available in the next few months direct to T-Mobile customers on their mobile for selected flights.  T-Mobile customers can also opt to receive instant snapshots of traffic conditions based on their current location, or subscribe to automatic traffic alerts for pre-defined routes. 

The Travel & Journey Alerts Service eliminates the need for time-consuming phone calls, providing all the information for an entire journey package – from the car to the train and plane.  Messages are delivered direct to a customer’s mobile phone at any time of the day and from any location.  This convenient and flexible service provides T-Mobile customers with up-to-date advice and travel tips to help reduce time spent waiting at airports and minimise rail and road travel delays.

Mobile Commerce has integrated flight status content from OAG with routing and road directions from the AA and real-time traffic information from ITIS, updated every fifteen minutes.
