OAG launches MAX Online for air transport market intelligence

6  June  2005

OAG MAX Online, a revolutionary new service offering market intelligence on global flight schedules and related data, is launched today by OAG.  Requiring no IT or database expertise, it offers quick and easy internet access to critical information necessary for competitive advantage in the air transport industry.

OAG MAX Online is built around the renowned OAG schedules database of around 1,000 airlines and 3,500 airports. Currently the tool provides the ability to interrogate planned schedules up to a year ahead.  Historical information back to 1996 will be added to the next release within the next two months.  A range of interactive query and reporting functions are overlaid onto this data, providing users with virtually unlimited market intelligence on worldwide passenger and cargo air transport.

Utilising a unique web based query tool, OAG MAX Online enables users to interrogate and analyse complex data at the touch of a button and create reports, graphs and charts for easier decision-making.

MAX Online gives answers to important industry related questions such as:-

  • How much capacity is available to and from the top 100 airports in Europe over the next 12 months?
  • How many destinations are available out of Chicago O’Hare and which airline is the most frequent operator?
  • What is the market share by frequency and capacity between London Heathrow and Hong Kong?
  • How fast is the low cost sector growing in Asia?

George Efkolides, Manager OAG Market Analysis, commented,

'Currently we have over 250 customers using our established analysis product on CD, ranging from airlines, airports and aircraft manufacturers to industry consultants and government agencies. Following customer feedback, OAG has developed this revolutionary online tool that enables users to look into the future and slice and dice worldwide airline schedules for the next twelve months in just a few minutes.

No other service on the market offers such a breadth of intelligence or such a user-friendly way of turning facts and figures into meaningful reports for operational planning, competitive analysis and route development.'

Duncan Alexander, Managing Director Business Development at OAG, added,

'MAX Online is the first OAG product developed entirely on our new technology platform.  We have involved a number of airlines and airports in the project to ensure it delivers what they need and is user-friendly.  Industry reaction has surpassed our expectations and even before today’s launch, we have over 100 requests to trial the product.   Air transport is such a competitive industry, and we believe the fast and easy analytical capabilities of MAX Online will be highly valued in helping to drive operational efficiencies and maximise revenues.'
