Top French Airports Power Ahead with Web Timetables

Three of France's top 10 airports have transformed their online timetables through a partnership agreement with OAG data, home of the world's largest and most up-to-date airline database.

From today, passengers accessing http://www.lyon.aeroport.frhttp://www.nantes.aeroport.fr and http://www.strasbourg.aeroport.fr   for Lyon, Nantes and Strasbourg have unrivalled facilities, including access to all 2,279 weekly in- and outbound scheduled flights; 125 holiday charters; individual flight details, and airport maps. The figures quoted are for LYON only and cannot be compared to Nantes or Strasbourg traffic.

Travellers can view options for their requested date and the entire week ahead, sure that the information is updated daily for accuracy and reliability.

The seamless service will also construct up to 50 connections through other airports, presenting the travel options in priority of speed and convenience. The results page shows all three types of flights at the same time ? schedules, charter and connections.

Individual flights may be then be selected at will, revealing an array of information, including the flight number, sector operator, and aircraft type. The maps will guide travellers speedily to the aircraft, and in transit.

By using OAG Flight Engine, the scheduled information is drawn from a database of more than 800 airlines, with the daily updates.

OAG has worked with each airport to incorporate the advanced facilities, which will benefit passengers, while simultaneously feeding back valuable statistics to the airports.

Lynne Fraser, Publisher of OAG data said:  "The airports had defined exactly what they wanted, and we worked with them to deliver it. Their sophisticated needs followed intensive research among customers, and real forward planning internally?.

The move was also a departure from the previous approach to the solution, said Bernard Chaffange, Director of Lyon Airport "In appointing OAG, they abandoned their previous approach of separate internet designer and a data supplier, as OAG could offer a seamless, one-stop solution."

"Web timetables are vital to help us market the airports to our customers, the airlines. Our site already attracts around 11,000 users a month with an average of 140,000 pages viewed per month and the timetables are a vital part of this?.

"By providing the ultimate up-to-date service on the web, we can ensure satisfied loyal, passengers, and know that the moment an airline changes its schedule, passengers can see the changes and don't arrive for flights that don't exist."
