Members of American's AAdvantage program can now earn miles when flying Air Tahiti Nui. Air Tahiti Nui operates daily nonstop service between Los Angeles and Tahiti and three weekly nonstops from New York to Tahiti, with continuing service to Sydney, Australia; and Auckland, New Zealand. AAdvantage members have been able to redeem miles for award flights on Air Tahiti Nui since 2000. Details are at http://www.aa.com/airtahitinui.  Through December 13, AAdvantage members can redeem 25,000 miles for a coach-class award ticket to the Caribbean from the continental United States, Canada or Mexico. That's the off-peak level, normally offered from September 7 through November 14, so the 5,000-mile discount amounts to a temporary extension of the off-peak period. American Express Membership Rewards members can now earn two points for every $1 in purchases at more than 100 online retailers charged to an enrolled American Express Card through links on the new Bonus Points Mall. American Express is introducing the mall as a replacement for the double points awarded for purchases charged to an American Express card at stand-alone supermarkets, gas stations, drugstores, the U.S. Postal Service and wireless phone bill payments. Dollar is offering double points (150 instead of the 75 points normally awarded) for rentals of a compact or larger vehicle for two or more days through November 15.
