Members of American's AAdvantage program can now earn miles when flying Air Tahiti Nui. Air Tahiti Nui operates daily nonstop service between Los Angeles and Tahiti and three weekly nonstops from New York to Tahiti, with continuing service to Sydney, Australia; and Auckland, New Zealand. AAdvantage members have been able to redeem miles for award flights on Air Tahiti Nui since 2000. Details are at http://www.aa.com/airtahitinui. 
Through December 13, AAdvantage members can redeem 25,000 miles for a coach-class award ticket to the Caribbean from the continental United States, Canada or Mexico. That's the off-peak level, normally offered from September 7 through November 14, so the 5,000-mile discount amounts to a temporary extension of the off-peak period. Award bookings for travel at the lower level between November 14 and December 13 must be made through AAdvantage Reservations at 1-800-882-8880. A $15 service fee applies.

October 31, 2006, is the last day to redeem AAdvantage miles for award travel on SWISS, which must be completed by October 31, 2007. July 31 was the last day to earn miles on SWISS transatlantic flights, but miles will be awarded for other SWISS flights through October 31, 2006. More information is at http://www.aa.com/swiss. 
American Express Membership Rewards members can now earn two points for every $1 in purchases at more than 100 online retailers charged to an enrolled American Express Card through links on the new Bonus Points Mall. American Express is introducing the mall as a replacement for the double points awarded for purchases charged to an American Express card at stand-alone supermarkets, gas stations, drugstores, the U.S. Postal Service and wireless phone bill payments. Between September 1 and December 15, members of the Choice Privileges rewards program will earn 8,000 points—normal and bonus points combined—for every two qualifying stays at 1,000 Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Clarion or Mainstay Suites properties in North America. That's enough points to redeem a free hotel room night at most Choice properties. There's no limit to the number of free nights that can be earned. Effective immediately, members of ATA's Travel Awards frequent-flyer program can earn points when renting from Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental (both owned by Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc.). To promote the tie-ups, bonus points are on offer for rentals from both companies. Dollar is offering double points (150 instead of the 75 points normally awarded) for rentals of a compact or larger vehicle for two or more days through November 15. Use the promotional code ATAD when making reservations and present a Travel Awards number at the time of pickup. And Thrifty is offering triple points (225 points per rental) to Travel Awards members who rent a premium, luxury, minivan, convertible or standard-size SUV for two or more days through November 15. Between September 13, 2006 and January 31, 2007, WorldPerks members can earn up to 100,000 bonus miles in Northwest's MileSafari promotion. Participants earn points for selected activities; the points are then converted into miles. Example: Fly business class roundtrip internationally to earn 130 points, which are worth 3,000 miles. Other qualifying activities include purchasing an airport lounge membership, signing up for a WorldPerks credit card, using a WorldPerks hotel or rental car partner, etc. Registration is required. WorldPerks members can combine miles and cash to pay for coach class tickets to most Northwest destinations.
