Loyalty Program News

Aeroplan members can now earn miles when staying at Novotel and Sofitel hotels, both Accor hotel brands with a total of 590 properties worldwide.

Normal earning rate will be 250 miles per stay at Novotel and 500 miles at Sofitel hotels. But through March 30, 2007, the rate will be doubled for stays within the United States and Canada.

Between January 16 and March 21, 2007, Alaska Air Mileage Plan members can save 5,000 miles off the regular 20,000-mile coach Saver award for Alaska or Horizon Air flights between San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose or Sacramento and any city in Oregon, Idaho, Colorado and Canada.

The discount is not available for travel between February 16–20, 2007.

Visit here for more.

Through January 31, 2007, AAdvantage members will earn two miles for every $1 donated to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, which supports the work of the United Nations Children's Fund by raising funds for its programs and increasing awareness of the challenges facing the world's children.

To donate or for more information, see http://www.unicefusa.org/aa.

Through March 31, 2007, Members of ANA Mileage Club will earn 1,500 bonus miles for each North America flight segment booked on the airline's newly redesigned Web site, www.fly-ana.com, and completed by May 31, 2007. Roundtrips earn 3,000 bonus miles.

Registration is required.

For further details visit ANA's Web site.

ATA Travel Awards members can now earn 300 points for every $10,000 in mortgage and home equity loans financed through Lending Tree.

Further information is here.

Members of British Airways' Executive Club program can now earn miles when renting cars from Alamo and National. Earning rate for Blue members is 500 miles per rental; Silver members earn 625 miles per rental; and Gold members earn 750.

See here for more.

SkyMiles members may now combine restricted and unrestricted awards, and Coach and First Class awards, on the same itinerary.

So, for example, members can book a domestic flight using restricted First Class on the outbound and return using restricted Coach. The price would be 35,000 miles (half the 45,000 miles normally required for a restricted First Class roundtrip, plus half the 25,000 miles for restricted Coach).

The new policy is explained here.

Fairmont Hotels is offering bonus miles in several airline programs for stays at participating properties at "Only One Way" winter rates completed by April 30, 2007.

Aeroplan members can earn triple miles; members of Alaska Air's Mileage Plan and American AAdvantage earn double miles.

Promotion details are here.

Priority Club members will earn 30,000 bonus points (or 6,000 Delta miles) after every second qualifying stay at InterContinental hotels in Boston, Baltimore, New York and Washington, D.C., completed before March 31, 2007.

Registration is required.

Visit http://www.intercontinental.com/northeast for more information, including a list of participating hotels.

Through March 31, 2007, WorldPerks members can earn up to 10,000 bonus miles for roundtrip flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei or Nagoya.

Bonuses are 10,000 miles for World Business Class (fare classes J or C), 7,500 miles in full-fare Coach (Y, B), or 5,000 miles in regular Coach class (M, Q, V). Blackout dates: December 20, 2006, through January 10, 2007.

Registration is required.

See http://www.nwa.com/offers/bonusasiawinter2006/ for further information.

With the launch of Shop4Miles, mileage collectors have a new option for earning miles when shopping online.  Where the airline and hotels' mileage malls simply direct shoppers to participating retailers, Shop4Miles permits consumers to compare price and mileage pay-out for selected items.

For now, miles are awarded in the programs of Alaska and Delta, but the company's long-term goal is to expand the partner roster to include all major travel loyalty programs.

Shop4Miles is at http://www.shop4miles.com.

Through February 28, 2007, Starwood Preferred Guest members will earn triple points for stays at participating Sheraton hotels in the following countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, China, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Registration is required.

Through January 31, 2007, Mileage Plus members will earn double miles for United, United Express and Ted flights between Chicago (ORD) and Albany, Fargo, Las Vegas, Memphis, Orange County and San Francisco.

Registration is required.

See here for more.

Through June 1, 2007, Mileage Plus members can redeem their miles for certificates good for discounts on United, United Express or Ted tickets purchased on united.com for travel within the 48 contiguous United States.

Travel on discounted tickets must be completed by June 14, 2007.

There are two options: Redeem 1,000 miles for a $25 discount certificate or 5,000 miles for a $75 discount certificate.

Members may cash in as many as 100,000 miles for e-Certs during the offer period, but only one e-Cert may be used per ticket.

Full details are here.
