Western ski resorts will come in for increased service by Delta Air Lines starting in mid-December. From Salt Lake City, Delta will serve Montrose/Telluride and on Saturdays there will be a run to that airport from Atlanta. A daily nonstop will operate from Atlanta and Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Additional flights will be scheduled between Salt Lake City and Aspen, Colorado; between Atlanta and Bozeman, Montana; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The SLC-Telluride run will be operated by Delta Connection’s SkyWest using the Bombardier RJ. An MD-88 will handle the Saturday service from ATL. All these runs supplement the return of seasonal service between Cincinnati and Jackson Hole and Vail and between ATL and Vail and Vancouver, British Columbia….For its part, US Airways starting December 15 will reinstate its seasonal service to Telluride from Phoenix Sky Harbor. That run will operate twice daily by US Airways Express carrier Mesa Airlines. Service will operate until March 31.

November 1 is the planned launch date for nonstop Northwest Airlink service from Grand Rapids to New York LaGuardia. NW intentions are that a 50-passenger Canadair Regional Jet make the jaunt…Here’s a neat new option for Chicago Midway devotees. Southwest Airlines launches daily nonstop service from MDW to Reno/Lake Tahoe come December 4…Southwest doubles up on nonstop Columbus-Orlando service November 20. This is a once-daily deal…Newport News/Williamsburg is an alternative airport to Norfolk. Now, word that AirTran is increasing its presence at PHF, launching daily nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale November 7…US Airways is reaching into suburban New York City from its Charlotte hub, launching thrice-daily nonstop service to White Plains December 3. Regional jets will do the heavy lifting…Orlando-Atlantic City is in the offing. Delta Connection starts flying the route November 15 with a once-daily regional jet…Southwest is doubling up on Orlando-Columbus service, laying on a second daily nonstop November 20…Slowly, airlines are rebuilding New Orleans service. Delta undertakes a critical route December 15 when it starts nonstop MSY-Los Angeles International service. More modestly, Southwest adds a fourth daily New Orleans-Dallas Love Field roundtrip October 29…Here’s an interesting transcon for Delta, one that avoids Atlanta. Southwest Airlines’ Dallas Love Field-Missouri routes are working well, so well that the low-fare powerhouse is laying on a fifth and sixth daily nonstop from DAL to St. Louis, and a fifth daily nonstop from Love Field to Kansas City. All this happens October 5. At the same time Southwest adds a seventh daily nonstop flight from Dallas to Albuquerque…JetBlue just began flying nonstop from the deep desert to the Big Apple. There’s now daily Tucson-New York JFK service…Carriers are flying more, and bigger, airplanes into Austin these days in an attempt to keep up with demand. Continental just added a third nonstop to Newark out of AUS. It’s a mid-day departure. Moreover, CO’s second daily departure down to Bush Houston Intercontinental has been upgraded to a 757-300—the largest narrowbody Continental flies…Here’s a small, but quite critical, link—one that will save flyers plenty of time, time they otherwise spend driving from El Paso or Albuquerque. Mesa Airlines now flies into White Sands Regional Airport at Alamogordo, New Mexico. Service is twice daily, nonstop from Albuquerque…Planning ahead for ski season? Consider US Airways Express’ twice-daily Phoenix-Telluride flights. They take wing December 15, and run through March 31, 2007.

White Plains is one of the most in-demand airports in the country. Now, word that US Airways Express will begin CRJ regional jet service out of HPN to its Charlotte hub December 3. On the books: a trio of daily nonstops…Delta Connection now offers a quartet of daily flights from Hartford’s Bradley International to its New York JFK gateway.
