The Travel Arranger or Travel Planner

The travel arranger or planner inside the company has an important job to do. They have got to be accurate and quick, they must please everyone, and they should be able to "perform miracles" to get the business traveler to the right place at the right time. Travel planners tend to have a lot of responsibilities. Most control the travel budget and will make key decisions. Booking hotel rooms falls under their control too.

To help them select the right flights and hotels, the best travel planners know what their business travelers like, far more than the travel agent does. In a survey conducted by Copthorne/Millennium hotels, we found that:

  • 100% of planners know the name of the traveler's husband, wife or partner
  • 78% know the traveler's hobbies and favourite sports
  • 50% know the traveler's favourite drink
