SACO splashes out on apartment option in Bath Special introductory rates from £99 (€145) a night are available during August with the opening of a stylish apartment option in the historic city of Bath. The restored Grade II-listed building in St James's Parade houses 43 ultra-stylish studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments – the only accommodation of its type in the city. They are expected to be popular with longer-stay business travellers as an alternative to Bath's high-priced hotels. The £6 million (€8.8 million) development by Bristol-based SACO, which pioneered the serviced apartment concept outside London and now offers accommodation in 35 major business travel destinations across the UK (including Derby, pictured), as well as a number of locations in the capital, is designed to be a home from home.
Each individually designed apartment has a spacious lounge/dining room with contemporary Italian furniture, a smart fully equipped kitchen, separate bedroom with king-size bed, and bathroom with bath and power-shower. Facilities include high-speed broadband connection, direct dial telephone, full-channel satellite and digital TV, DVD and CD player. For the first time in a SACO development there will be a 24-hour concierge service and a central meeting room for business or entertainment. The £99 introductory rate applies to studio apartments, representing a saving of £11 (€16) a night, while one-bedroom apartments are available for £110/€161 (saving £75/€110), and two-bedrooms for £180/€264 (saving £20/€29).
