JAL, together with Malev Hungarian Airlines and Royal Jordanian Airlines, will start offering services and benefits from April 1 in the biggest expansion of the alliance since its launch eight years ago. Five other members of the JAL Group – JALways, Japan Asia Airways, JAL Express, JAIR and Japan Transocean Air – join as affiliates on the same day. With a Global Explorer ticket, winners can travel around the world on Oneworld’s network and that of other participating carriers. They can choose to go on up to a year-long journey, stopping off at a maximum of 15 destinations. A typical itinerary could include a South Pacific island, and stopovers in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia. Providing simple, flexible, and affordable round-the-world travel, Global Explorer fares are one of Oneworld's products, including various circle fares. From April 1, the members of the alliance will comprise JAL, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, LAN Airlines, Malev Hungarian Airlines, Qantas and Royal Jordanian Airlines, plus their affiliates. ‘Pig out’ at the Langham Hong Kong’s 5-star Langham hotel has a special ‘Year of the Pig’ package that is valid until February 6 next year. Priced at US$668/€508 for either single or double occupancy, the three-day, two-night deal includes accommodation in a Club Floor room with a number of extras thrown in for good measure. These include access to the Club Lounge; breakfast in either the lounge or the L’Eclipse, the hotel’s new interactive restaurant; complimentary use of the Victoria Room (up to a maximum of two hours per stay) with its 42" plasma TV/DVD home theatre system; use of the hotel's swimming pool and 24-hour gym; complimentary local phone calls; a HK$500 (US$64/€49) dining credit towards consumption at any of the F&B outlets; and a daily allowance of HK$400 (US$51/€39) increasing to HK$600 (US$77/€58) for double occupancy) on personal laundry, pressing and dry-cleaning service. Guests will also be presented with a piggy bank, symbolising prosperity and wealth, and either a silk tie for men or a silk pouch for women. Rates are subject to a 10% service charge and 3% government tax.
