A promotion, which Dragonair is running until September 10, is designed to bring friends, family or business partners in mainland China and Taiwan together in the airline's home city of Hong Kong. Return tickets, for stays of between three and seven nights, range from HK$4,699 for a minimum of three people up to HK$10,851 for a maximum of nine. Valid from any of the 19 mainland cities served by Dragonair, plus two in Taiwan, the offer requires travel by participants on the same day, or the nearest available date in selected cities, two of which are needed as a minimum requirement.
“For example, you could invite two friends from Shanghai, one from Kunming and one from Taipei, a total of four air tickets, for only HK$5,899,” explains Titus Diu, Dragonair's general manager, revenue management and distribution. “There's never been such an affordable opportunity to get your acquaintances together in one place.” Hong Kong-based Dragonair's busiest route is Shanghai, on which it is currently operating 16 round-trip flights a day. Extra nights free Dubai’s Park Hyatt is currently running a summer promotion, offering a complimentary third night for those staying two nights, while guests booked for four nights can enjoy two extra nights free. In addition, one 200 dirham (US$55/€43) gift voucher per room is also being provided for use at Amara, the hotel's luxury day spa.
The upmarket hotel, which opened in September last year and has already made it into Conde Nast Traveler’s ‘hot list’, is located on the banks of the Creek. As well as featuring some of the largest accommodation in Dubai – a minimum of 50m2, not including terraces or balconies – the 225-room property has a 25-metre pool, described as one of the best in the emirate. The promotion, valid for all rooms, including suites, runs until the end of August. Choice rates at Mandarin Oriental Special rates at all 21 of the Mandarin Oriental group’s hotels worldwide are available, both during the week and at weekends, until the end of September as part of a Seasonal Choices promotion. Those traveling to Thailand should note that The Oriental, Bangkok, is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year (rates from US$239 a night, including breakfast, double occupancy and late check-out), while the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco’s newly refurbished rooms provide travelers with an exceptional level of comfort and style from US$379. Elsewhere, rates are from as low as US$98 (Jakarta) and US$119 (Manila).
