Celebrating 70 years of flying to Bermuda

September  2007

With just two passengers on board the first flight to Bermuda in 1937 by what was then Imperial Airways, BA now flies around 200 passengers to the island on each of its daily flights.

Celebrating 70 years of flights between London and Bermuda, British Airways is this month offering a special Club World fare for bookings made before the end of the month. At £1,937 (€2,866), it represents a saving of up to £593 (€877) on the normal Business Class fare.

But you will have to be quick: bookings have to be made before September 25, but are valid for flights up to the end of March next year.

With just two passengers on board the first flight to Bermuda in 1937 by what was then Imperial Airways, BA now flies around 200 passengers to the island on each of its daily flights.

Visitors to Bermuda travelling before October 27 will also benefit from a US$300 iCard gift voucher.

Part of the island’s Endless Summer Promotion, it is awarded with each booking of at least four nights and can be used at any restaurant, shop, attraction and hotel that accepts major credit cards.

The promotion is designed for travellers in need of an affordable, last-minute escape to the island paradise. For more information, log on to www.bermudatourism.com

The three spacious Royal suites and one Presidential suite have private terraces or gardens, stunning views, huge marble bathrooms, walk-in showers, Jacuzzis and much more.

The Suite Dreams offer, with rates starting from 610 for one of the two Gran suites, includes one night’s accommodation, breakfast, dinner (excluding beverages), Champagne and fresh fruit arrangement, and a special turn down service.
