Airline and hotel alliances launch joint ‘Travel the World in Style’ promotion

August  2007

"This ‘Cultural DNA’ is a key component to the genetic make up of each of the alliance brands, and guarantees the guest a truly authentic stay each and every time."
Christopher Hartley, CEO, Global Hotel Alliance

A chance to win a First Class round-the-world ticket, combined with presidential suite accommodation at every stopover, is being offered in a competition which the Global Hotel Alliance is currently running in conjunction with the Star Alliance airline network.

Anyone booking a stay through GHA – which comprises seven luxury brands – before November 30 will be automatically entered into a prize draw. From premier suites in New York, Berlin and Beijing to a duplex overlooking the Indian Ocean, via a presidential suite on the steps of the Great Wall of China, winners can choose the itinerary of their dreams and discover how it feels to ‘Travel the World in Style’. Two Economy Class RTW tickets, with standard accommodation thrown in, will be available to the runners-up.

The seven members of the Global Hotel Alliance – Kempinski in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Omni (North America), Pan Pacific in the Pacific Rim, The Leela Group (India), Dusit (Thailand), Landis (Taiwan and China), and Marco Polo (China and Hong Kong) – offer more than 150 properties in 39 countries.

“In addition to the chance to win the trip of a lifetime, the winners will also experience the unique local flavour that each brand provides to its guests,” says Christopher Hartley, the alliance’s CEO. “This ‘Cultural DNA’ is a key component to the genetic make-up of each of the alliance brands, and guarantees the guest a truly authentic stay each and every time.”

In preparation for the launch of the campaign, the online booking engine www.globalhotelalliance.com), has undergone an extensive review and upgrade in order to provide a simpler, more user-friendly service for customers. “Combining flight reservations and hotel bookings in an easy to use, seamless process, is what customers expect and what we deliver,” adds Hartley.
