A penthouse suite occupying the entire 45th floor of Dubai’s 5-star Grosvenor House apartment hotel is being made available for short-term stays. With an area of almost 88m2, it has panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows revealing a 360-degree view of the emirate. The suite, which can only be accessed by private lift, has a dedicated butler, as well as use of a personal chef if required. According to general manager Pam Wilby: “The penthouse provides the ‘wow’ factor without glitz; instead, it really is the epitome of good taste, providing minimalist chic, but with maximum service.”
An impressive entrance hall opens into a vast reception area, office, boardroom and dining room, as well as three bedrooms, including one with en-suite jacuzzi. There are two fully equipped kitchens, one of which is for guests' use.
Technology is discreet yet seamless; as well as wireless, high-speed internet access, large plasma wall-mounted TVs offer access to an interactive digital information and entertainment system that delivers movies-on-demand with DVD functionality, as well as broadband internet via the television.
Needless to say, none of this comes cheap, costing between US$5,000 and US$8,000 a night. But guests get a great deal for their money.
