November  2006

Emirates is boosting capacity on the Manchester-Dubai route from the end of October with the introduction of a Boeing 777-300ER for the second daily departure, replacing an Airbus A330-200. Both flights are now operated by the extended range Boeing, adding almost 150 extra seats a day on the route.

In a move to streamline its operations, Japan Airlines has merged its international and domestic businesses, created when JAL and Japan Air System became part of the same organisation two-and-a-half-year ago.

Qatar Airways introduces a four times a week service between Doha and Dar Es Salaam from January 9, operated by a two-class Airbus A319.

After a lapse of 16 years, Cathay Pacific is to resume flights between Hong Kong and Shanghai in December, subject to government approvals.
