Your screen should look like the image below (click on the chart to view a larger image)
Click on Run Queryand select ‘LAX’ as your ‘Departure Airport Code(s)’ and ‘2006-12-04’ as your preferred week.
Now click ‘OK’ to run the report.
The table displays the point-to-point distance between LAX and each of the airports it serves non-stop in addition to each segment’s total distance travelled in the week in question.
To rank the routes according to the greatest distance covered for non-stop flights out of LAX use the ‘Apply/Remove Sort’ icon in the ‘Report’ toolbar and select the ‘Descending’ option.
As we can see from the screenshot below the top three longest routes out of LAX are Singapore, Bangkok and Melbourne.
The average distance served by flights departing out of LAX is calculated using the following steps:
Step 1 - Highlight the ‘Statute Miles Direct’ column by clicking in the data contained within it.
Step 2 - Click on the ‘Insert Sum’ button and select the ‘Average’ option.
The average ‘Statute Miles Direct’ aggregate will be displayed at the bottom of the report. We can see that for LAX this value is calculated as being 2342.47 statute miles.
