Identify the number of airports that both Aer Lingus and Ryanair depart from and compare overlapping ones.

Start setting up your query using the yellow query filters:

Carrier Airline Code

AIRLINE folder
All (excluding surface) SERVICE folder
Operating Flights Only  CODE SHARE folder
Week Commencing Date(s)  PERIOD folder
Non-Stop Flights only ROUTING folder  

Now select the following fields as Results Objects.

Carrier Airline Code

AIRLINE folder
Departure Airport Code DEPARTURE FROM folder
Frequency  FREQUENCY & CAPACITY folder

Your screen should look like the image below (click on the chart to view a larger image)

Click on Run Query and select ‘EI’ and ‘FR’ as your ‘Carrier Airline Code(s)’ and ‘2006-11-13’ as your ‘Week Commencing Date’
Now click ‘OK’ to run the report.

To easily identify the airports that both airlines depart from, follow the steps below.

Step 1 – Hover the mouse over the table so that a grey border appears.  Now right click and select the ‘Turn To’ option.  From the ‘Tables’ sub-menu select the ‘Crosstab’ option which is positioned in the bottom left.

Step 2 –Right click within the data contained in the ‘Frequency’ column and select the ‘Format Number’ option.  From the ‘Number Format’ sub-menu select ‘Number’, highlight the 1,235; - 1,235 option in the ‘Properties’ box and tick the ‘Custom’ option as shown in the image below.

Step 3 – In the ‘Positive’ box remove the three decimals.

Step 4 – Press ‘OK’.

Now the report shows the number of flights that depart from the same airports for both Aer Lingus and Ryanair.
