MAXimum Information

Did you know that using MAX Online you can identify possible connecting flights out of an airport of your choice?

Please go to the “Airport Reports” option and select the template MAX X80 ‘Slot & Connection Analysis – Departure Airport’ that can be found within the ‘Slot & Connection’ category.

As an example, we will identify all connecting flights available from Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) with a minimum and maximum connecting time of 30 and 60 minutes respectively, for the 15th of June 2006.  The report template allows you to specify the period you wish to examine for that particular day e.g. from 08:00 through to 22:00.  You also have the option to determine the duration of the banks of the airport by selecting the time interval in minutes.  In this case as a time interval we will select 120 minutes, therefore, in the results we will see all flights grouped in block of 2 hours.

CAUTION: Please ensure that you use the appropriate format indicated in the template of the report.

STEP 1: Enter the starting time (beginning of time band) e.g. 08:00 in HH:MM format
STEP 2:  Enter the finishing time (ending of time band) e.g. 22:00 in HH:MM format
STEP 3: Enter minimum connection time (minutes) e.g. 30
STEP 4: Enter maximum connection time (minutes) e.g. 60
STEP 5: Enter the band width time (minutes) e.g. 120
STEP 6: Select Departure Airport Code e.g. FCO
STEP 7: Select Calendar Date YYYY-MM-DD e.g. 2006-06-15

Now click ‘Run Query’.

Max Online will display all departing flights out of FCO that meet the criteria chosen with the report identifying the busiest slots.  As an example, between 08:00 and 10:00 there are 99 departing flights that are available for a possible connection, between 16:00 and 18:00 there are 81 flights whilst between 12:00 and 14:00 there are 78 flights.

The data is also available in tabular and graphical format and you also have the ability to view the number of connecting flights that depart FCO on that day, by operating carrier.
