TIP OF THE MONTH:
|
||||||||||||||||||||
For this week’s tip we will guide you on how to create a report that displays 2 carriers’ networks and the number of flights they will operate in April 2008. Start by clicking on the ‘Run a New Query’ link in MAX Online’s homepage then set up your query using the yellow Query Filters
Now select the following variables as your Results Objects,.
Your screen should look like the image below (click on the chart to view a larger image):
Click on Run Query, select ‘E0’ (Eos Airlines) and ‘Y7’ (Silverjet) as your Carrier Airline Codes. Select ‘200804’ as the Year & Month Number. Now click OK to run the report. MAX Online displays the two carrier’s networks and the number of flights they operate throughout April 2008. Now, click into the data contained within the Carrier Airline Code column and drag the object over the heading of the report then release the mouse button to create a crosstab. MAX Online will indicate that you have correctly positioned the mouse by changing the shape of the pointer to a slim rectangle. Below is a screenshot for reference.
Upon releasing the mouse button MAX Online displays the report in a crosstab format enabling you to easily compare the two carrier’s networks. Calculate the total number of flights Eos Airlines & Silverjet offer throughout April 2008 by clicking into the data contained within the Frequency column and use the Sum function from the Insert Sum button in the Report Toolbar.
A row and column will be inserted into the report displaying the total number of flights by route and by carrier. Delete the final column of the report to display only the total number of flights for April 2008 and not the total number of flights per route. Finally, change the format of the report to your preference by using the options in the properties tab pictured below.
An example of how this could be presented is displayed below.
If you need help with any of the functions available within OAG MAX Online or if you require any additional ad-hoc analysis, please do not hesitate to contact us.
