Identify the number of Available Seat Kilometres (ASKs) between ‘Eastern & Western Europe’ and ‘Middle East’. On the homepage of MAX Online, click ‘Run a New Query’. Start setting up your query using the yellow query filters:
Now select the following fields as Results Objects.
Your screen should look like the image below
Click on ‘Run Query’ and select ‘EU1 and EU2’ as your ‘Departure Region Code(s), ‘ME1’ as your ‘Arrival Region Code’ and finally ‘2007-01-08’ as the ‘Week Commencing Date’ Now click ‘OK’ to run the report.
The results of this query show all ASKs by Departure Airport/Region Name and by Airport Name for w/c 08 January 2007. Utilising the steps below you can identify those Eastern & Western European airports with the greatest number of ASKs to the Middle East. Step 1 – Click within the data contained in the ‘Available Seat Kilometres’ column and rank the results using the tabs below.
As shown in the image below, the routes from London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle & Frankfurt to Dubai appear on the top of the table with the highest number of ASKs between Europe and Middle East.
By following the steps below you can group the data to show all European traffic into each Middle Eastern airport. Step 1 – Click into the data contained within the ‘Arrival Airport Name’ column. Step 2 – Now select the Insert/Remove Break icon that is displayed in the top toolbar.
The results will now be grouped by ‘Arrival Airport’.

Step 4 – Customise your report as shown in the image below using the ‘Properties’ tab. Your screen should look like the image below: Step 5 – Now click again into the data contained within the ‘Arrival Airport Name’ column. Step 6 – Click on the Properties Tab:
Step 7 – Select the Break Properties sub option that is available when you click on the following icon. This is positioned on the left hand side of the screen, as shown in the image below.
Step 8 – Uncheck the ‘tick’ from the Remove Duplicates option. The results will now show all empty cells filled in with the ‘Arrival Airport Name’
You can also quickly identify the overall number of ASKs from Eastern & Western Europe to each individual airport in the Middle East by aggregating the ASKs. You can do this by clicking on the drop down menu next to the S icon and selecting the ‘Sum’ option. The value will appear at the bottom of each section of the report.
