Click on Run Query and for the Carrier Airline Code(s) select B6 (JetBlue) , F9 (Frontier Airlines), FL (AirTran Airways), NK (Spirit Airlines), SY (Sun Country Airlines Inc.), TZ (ATA Airlines) and WN (Southwest Airlines). Now click OK to run the report. The report will be displayed as per image below.
Step 1 – Click into the data within the ‘International/Domestic’ column. Step 2 – Right click and select the ‘Remove Column’ option. The table will now show the total number of monthly flights for each of the seven low cost carrier we included in the report. Step 3 – Click into the data contained within the ‘Frequency’ column. Step 4 – Rank the data in descending order using the ‘Apply/Remove Sort’ button in the report toolbar.
Not surprisingly, Southwest Airlines is offering the highest number of low cost flights for the month of November 2006 (82,664 flights). Step 5 – If you wish to break down the total volume of flights by type of operation, drag and drop the ‘International/Domestic’ object into your report. Step 6 – Once this is done, click within the ‘International/Domestic’ column and then select the ‘insert/remove break’ icon that is displayed in the top toolbar. The results will now show the group of low cost airlines that offer domestic and international operations to/from and within the US. You can customise your report using the ‘Properties’ options so that it appears as in the image below
