Identify which carriers operate a specific aircraft type, for example the A319, and see how often this aircraft type is used in a week within an airline’s network.
Start setting up your query using the yellow query filters:

Click on Run Query and select ‘319’ as your ‘Specific Aircraft Code(s)’ option. Select the week that you wish to run the analysis for, e.g. 2006-10-09.
Now click OK to run the report.
The report displays the number of flights by carrier (code and name) for those airlines who operate the A319 during the week commencing 09 October 2006.
Take the following steps to find out the number of airlines that operate this aircraft type.
Step 1 – Click into the data within the ‘Carrier Airline Name’ column.
Step 2 – Click on the ‘Insert Sum’ button and select the ‘Count’ option.
The number of airlines operating the A319 will be displayed at the bottom of the table. For week commencing 09 October 2006 OAG MAX Online indicates that there are 73 passenger airlines that perform A319 operations.
Along with the number of airlines, you can also identify the volume of flights this particular aircraft operates within a week and the carrier with the highest number of flights.
- Click within the data contained in the ‘Frequency’ column.
- Select the ‘Σ Sum’ option in the ‘Insert Sum’ menu.
- Now rank the Frequency data in descending order utilising the A-Z button.
From the results you can identify that the total volume of A319 operated flights is 29,430 whilst the carrier with the highest number of operations utilising the aircraft type is easyJet with 3,338 flights.
