Create a regional market share analysis for selected hubs. Example: We will discover the volume of flights and capacity offered by four Middle Eastern airports; Dubai (DXB), Abu Dhabi (AUH), Doha (DOH) and Bahrain (BAH) to the world’s key regions during the week commencing 4th September 2006. Start setting up your query using the yellow query filters:
Now select the following fields as Results Objects.

Click on Run Query and select DXB, AUH, DOH and BAH as the ‘Departing Airport Code(s) and 2006-09-04 as the ‘Week Commencing Date’. Now click ‘OK’ to run the report.The results show the total number of operating flights and available seat capacities departing from these four airports during w/c 04 September 2006. Following the steps below, we will produce a table that provides a ranking by capacity share for the key regions served by the selected airports. Step 1 – Click into the data contained within the ‘Departure Airport Code’ column. Step 2 – Group the results for each airport by clicking on the ‘Insert/Remove page break’ icon.
The report will appear as below.
Step 3 - Insert the frequency and capacity shares by clicking in each data field and then selecting ‘Percentage’ from the ‘Sum’ menu using the ‘Σ’ button.
Step 4 – Click in the ‘Percentage’ column for the ‘Total Number of Seats’ values and rank them in descending order using the ‘Apply/Remove Sort’ button.
Using the options in the ‘Properties’ tab you can edit your report to look like the image below:
