Produce an analysis based on a specific ‘seat quantity’ range. Start setting up your query using the yellow query filters:
Now select the following fields as Results Objects.

Click on ‘Run Query’ and select ‘EU1’ as the ‘Departure Region Code(s)’. Then enter the higher value of the seating range you wish to examine e.g. 120. In the next prompt, please enter the lower value e.g. 100. Finally, select the week that you wish to examine e.g. 2006-08-14. The table that is produced shows all airlines departing from Western Europe with a seats value between 100 – 120 seats by aircraft type. Following the steps below, we will group the results by aircraft type to make some direct comparisons amongst all operating carriers. Step 1 – Click into the data contained within the ‘Specific Aircraft Code’ column. The results will now be grouped by ‘Specific Aircraft Code’. As shown in previous MAX Bytes, you can customise your results table using the ‘Properties’ tab so your report looks like the image below:
The data within the ‘Seat Quantity’ column can be sorted in descending or ascending order by selecting the appropriate option from the A-Z function that is available in the top toolbar. MAXimum Information
Click on the ‘ICAO Analysis’ link on the home page of OAG MAX. This will open up the ‘ICAO Analysis’ query tool. Start building your query using the following ‘Query Filters’ (yellow icons) that can be found in the ‘Traffic by Flight Stage - TFS’ folder. From City Name Now select the following fields as Results Objects (blue cubes/purple spheres) from the ‘Traffic by Flight Stage’ folder. From City Name The image below shows what your query should look like once you have selected the criteria:
Click on Run Query and select ‘FRANKFURT’ as the ‘From City Name’ filter, ‘CHICAGO’ as the ‘To City Name’ option (in UPPER CASE) and then ‘2005’ as the ‘Year’. Now click OK to run the report. MAX Online will show all airlines operating this particular segment, the number of passengers carried and the load factors by aircraft type. Upon customisation the data could be presented as follows :
You will notice that the results show freight flights as well, which you can analyse further by incorporating additional measures such as ‘Revenue Traffic Mail’ or ‘Revenue Traffic Freight’. Please note that the data is available for BOTH directions, inbound and outbound traffic. Therefore you can replicate the above process selecting ‘CHICAGO’ as the ‘From City Name’ and ‘FRANKFURT’ as the ‘To City Name’ for the same year. * For those customers who have already upgraded their account to include access to ‘ICAO Analysis’.
