Compare the number of operating and non operating flights available between key regions. Example: We will identify the number of codeshare flights available from Eastern & Western Europe to North America for the month of August 2006 and will compare them with the actual operating flights. Start setting up your query using the yellow query filters:
Now select the following fields as Results Objects.

Click on Run Query and select ‘EU1’ & ‘EU2’ as the ‘Departure Region Code’ (Western & Eastern Europe respectively), ‘NA1’ as the Arrival Region Code (North America) and ‘200608’ as the ‘Year & Month Number’ (August 2006). Now Click OK to run the report. The results show the total number of operating and non operating flights departing Eastern & Western Europe and arriving to North America for the month of August 2006.
Using the following steps we will create a table that will enable us to easily compare the operating with the non operating flights. Step 1 – Click into the data contained within the ‘Operating/Non Operating Status’ column. Step 2 – Now select the Insert/Remove Break icon that is displayed in the top toolbar:
The results will now be grouped by ‘Operating/Non Operating Status’ which enables you to compare the volume of operating and non operating flights offered for that particular month. In addition you can customise the table using the Properties Tab as shown in the image below (optional):
MAXimum Information
Click on the ‘ICAO Analysis’ link on the home page of OAG MAX. This will open up the ‘ICAO Analysis’ query tool. Start building your query using the following ‘Query Filters’ (yellow icons) that can be found in the ‘Air Carrier Traffic’ folder. Carrier Name Now select the following fields as Results Objects (blue cubes/purple spheres) from the ‘Air Carrier Traffic’ folder. Carrier Name The image below shows what your query should look like once you have selected the above criteria:
Click on Run Query and select ‘FINNAIR’ as the ‘Carrier Name’ and ‘1998 – 2005’ as the ‘Year’. Now Click OK to run the report. MAX Online will display the number of passengers carried by Finnair between 1998 and 2005 as shown in the image below. In addition, you can display the results in a graphical format (optional).
